How Can I Tell If My Toms And Floor Tom On Drums Sound Right?
I'm trying to get my toms and floor toms to sound like Zac farro's from paramore or Rian's from All time low, but how can I tell if the sound is right? My drums are a pearl forum series.

good heads. But it is up to you if you think they sound good, because some people might not think they sound good. if you want them to sound like zac farro’s listen to them them and then adjust them.
GOOD LUCK!
You have a Pearl Forum. They won’t sound like Zach’s or Rian’s drum sets. They’re sets are made from keller 6 ply shells. Which means the darn things are 5mm thin and resonate more, and produce a lower note. Plus, Zach uses an 18″ floor tom and odds are yours is a 16″
Your drums can sound like theres in a live venue if the sound guy knows what he’s doing. Other than they, get some Evans Coated EC2′s with some coated Evans G1′s on the bottom adn you’ll be about as close without dropping $2400 on a new SJC or Truth kit. Buy a drum dial and set all your tom reso heads to 74 or 75, then the batters to about 72-73.
You can easily get the bass drum to sound like theirs with an Aquarian Super Kick II batter head and an Aquarian Regulator reso head.
Hey bud, before you go spending a bunch of money on new heads, keep in mind that a lot of the “sound” of a band is created in the studio. Mic placement, mixing, engineering even the size of the room and the materials in the room will affect the sound. Just something to think about before you go chasing another drummers sound.
I have the same drums most of the time u need to get different heads if ur a big spender get some Evans ec2s clear if ur middle spender get like Remo pinstripes
If it sounds good and not like a Tarzan jungle drum.
