What’s You Opinion On Electronic Drum Kits For Beginners?
I'm wanting how to learn how to play the drums really well. I know the basic 4 by 4 beat, but I don't have a drum kit to practice on. I live in an apartment so I need a good electric drum kit to plug head phones in. What's the best drum kit like that?
i dont know too much about makes or models of electronic drums, but from what i have played, there seem to be 2 main kinds. the first is cheaper, the pads are made of solid rubber/polymer and they dont feel quite like a real drum set. the other are like shells with a mesh drum head. these actually feel a lot like real drums, and it can sense how hard you hit it and adjust the volume accordingly. i also know that the most expensive part of the set is the input device, the computer that you plug all the sensors into. this will dictate what kind, how many, and the versatility of your sounds. hope this helps out a little bit!

To answer your question, even with the best electronic sets, using an electronic set will alter your feel – especially for things like rimshots, complex hi-hat work, and cymbals. You can still learn a lot and play some great sounding beats, but it does not feel like a regular drum set. This may not be a big issue. If you just want to make music and rock out (and don’t care about moving to acoustic), then electronic is just fine. If you want to be able to play on an acoustic set with a great sense of feel, then electronic is not the way to go.
Awsome blog, a lot of sites with music posts on the world wide web, but I enjoy this. Was somewhat tough to unearth however.
The best thing is to stay together for a percussionist expert you trust and go shopping together. Many times you know someone who sells used set, which means that you can literally get more band for your buck. Good luck and I hope you find what you are looking for.
I really love them, Well i love music and all sounds in general.
